ill-literate

I have a fascination with words; where they originated, how they were developed; Language, Literature, History. The single greatest invention in history is the written word. We live in the first society in history which has access to literature, possess the ability to read, yet chooses not too. Historically, reading has been the sole dividing factor between rich & poor; today, reading is considered a boring inconvenience.

In terms of working with Type, things came together when I stopped viewing words as a group of letters and started viewing each letter as an individual shape; instantly, proper spacing began to make sense. Now working with letter-forms is one of my favorite aspects of design, in large part, because it is where I see the greatest need.

“He who controls the language controls the masses”.
